A Year In Review (cont)
As mentioned in Year In Review – Installment 1, there is much to summarize about my past year, so here is the second half. Again, NONE of this would be possible without the ongoing love and support of my friends and family members.
In August, I traveled to New York City where I participated in an MMG Model Agency photoshoot! I was given this opportunity after being discovered at the International Junior Miss competition in Orlando FL, just a couple of months prior. It was an exciting moment of getting a professional hair and make-up application, followed by a lengthy fitting with a fashion stylist. They wanted to find my own “signature look”.
New School New Experiences
October found me diving deep into my new school and my studies. I LOVE my new school and have made some friendships that I am sure will last me a lifetime. The teaching staff is really friendly and they are always available to help me with my school work. I joined the volleyball team and now that the season has recently ended, I miss it already!
Community Service Projects
Anyone who knows me knows that performing community service is something I truly get the most joy out of. I started the school year by preparing Fannie packs for young teenage girls. They were packed with a clean pair of panties, wipes, and pads. Many young girls go to school and are often unexpectedly surprised when their menstrual cycle arrives. To save them the embarrassment of the unexpected, I prepared and supplied the Zumalt Middle School with over 100 of these ‘GO TO’ emergency kits for young ladies!
I continued my passion by assembling birthday bags – for children in the Dallas/Fort Worth area to host their own birthday party! Each bag contained items enough for a child to host a birthday party with up to 8 kids. My birthday bags were stuffed with cake mix, icing, napkins, plates, forks, 8 invitations, candles, and their own ‘goodie bags” of candy, party favors, balloons, and decorations!
Pageantry is More Than Beauty
I attended Amber Punch Brown of Crown Captors – Mindset Coaching seminar. She shared insight and knowledge that I will be able to apply throughout my pursuit of the crown, and more importantly, to all areas of my life. The skills she taught will not only last through my pageantry days, but all days for a lifetime. She taught me how to harness the keys toward my success in whatever venture I may choose.
In late November, I joined the Honeydrops Foundation at their 4th Annual Masquerade Ball at the Riveter in Dallas, TX. Here I spoke to my fellow queens of the ins and outs of pageantry.
Best Birthday Ever!
Finally, I wound up my spectacular year by turning 12 with a BANG! I hosted a bunch of friends and family to Alana’s Secret birthday party at the house, followed by a trip in a long-stretch limousine to the local Spooky House – where we screamed in laughter and delight! What more could a girl ask or want?
I hope that everyone who follows my adventures is now up to speed. THANK YOU for your continued support! Please have a blessed Holiday Season and stay tuned to see what 2020 will bring!
Hugs and Kisses!
